The book Beast Child is about a boy named Lenis and a Girl named Missy Clemens who have just escaped from slavery and now have freedom when they escape they get aboard a ship named Hiryu, but are they old enough to decide their own fate are they strong enough to take on the responsibilities that are going to come with them they started thinking. They are off on a journey to find the baby Dragon Suiteki's Powers. Their search to find and unlock the powers of the baby Dragon take them to Heiligland they are stuck between to option which they have to decide upon, the safety of an entire city or their own sense of what is right or what is wrong for them. They both don't know who they are they don't know who their parents or where they come from. They then meet a villager boy who they think that just might hold the key to who the are. They must now decide whether to find out who they are or be left as the same kids who have not a clue of who they are, can they trust the boy in to helping them.
I think that this book is a book for people who love a bit of mystery or a bit of brain teasing the reason I say that is because this book at the end leaves you clueless and at the end of each chapter the leave a cliffhanger which leaves you wondering what or when something is going to happen. This book has some tricky words that people under 8 might have to search up I am saying this is because I couldn't figure out most of the words and I am 11 so even I has to search up a few words. This book has great grammar punctuation and has great descriptive language which really helps the reader imagine what the writer is actually talking about. They character I find really interesting in this story is Missy Clemens it is because at every situation it is always up to missy to sort it out what is right or what wrong what senses are telling her the right answer and what are telling her the wrong answer.
I would most certainly recommend this book for kids over 10 that have a great vocabulary unlike mine and are okay with the bit that this book has no pictures and are great readers that can spell out any word easily. This book does have some easy to read sentences I would recommend this book mostly for people that all have great imagination and can visualise any adjective as soon as they read the word. This book also has a part one this one is part two the first one is named QUILLBLADE read it has the same story but that one actually tells about their lives living on slavery.
