The Sneetches
The Sneetches is a fantastic kid’s book which is by Dr.Suess. This rhyming text is a perfect book which teaches a lesson to young kids. This book can also be great fun to primary students or adults.
This story is set on a beach where tall yellow birds thrive. There are two species of those animals. The 1st one has a star on its stomach and the 2nd one is plain yellow. ‘When the star-belly Sneetches had Frankfurter roasts or Picnics or parties or marshmallow toasts. They never invited the plain belly Sneetches. They left them out cold, in the dark of the beaches. They kept them away. Never let them come near. And that’s how they treated them year after year.’ One day, a stranger called Sylvester McMonkey McBean announced that “I’ve come here to help you. I have what you need. And my prices are low. And I work at great speed. And my work is 100 percent guaranteed.” Then, quickly Sylvester McMonkey McBean put together a very peculiar machine. And said, “You want stars like the star belly Sneetch….? My friends, you can have them for five dollars each!”
I liked this because this book had a very good moral in it and also because the rhymes never stopped in the story. I liked that he used ‘thar’ because it rhymes with stars. The book also had very bright and vibrant colours like yellow, red, and orange. This book is perfect for young toddlers to enjoy.
The main character of this story is Sylvester McMonkey McBean and the two types of Sneetches- starred and plain.
I recommend this book to toddlers all the way to 12 year olds because it has big writing and good pictures on the pages. You can find this book in your local library or on amazon.com. The link will be under this review. Overall, I give it a 10 out of 10!
Read the book first if you have it because the book is better!
