Sky the Blue Fairy
This week I have been reading a fantastic book called ‘Sky the Blue Fairy ‘. This book is about a fairy that makes two girls happy, Kirsty and Rachel. Sky has some bubble trouble because of the evil goblins and needs their help.
There are three characters in this book Sky, Kirsty, Rachel and the goblins. The main character is Sky. Sky has blonde, short, curly hair, wears a royal blue coloured dress with royal blue boots and a shiny silver necklace. She also loves the colour blue. Sky the blue fairy is shy and doesn’t really talk much for example: Rachel says ‘don’t be shy Sky ‘. Rachel and Kirsty love to help Sky on her missions. The goblins are sneaky and sly because they steal the feathers and jewels from Queen Titania and put them in the human world.
This book is a great book because of the goblins making trouble. I also like this book because of the map at the front and also the little chapter of one other fairies book. The chapter at the back of the book is Izzy the indigo fairy. This book is also a great book because of the poem at the front such as ‘cold winds blow and thick ice forms, I conjure up this fairy storm. To seven corners of the mortal world, the rainbow fairies will be hurled ‘
This book is entertaining because of the short sentences, exclamation marks, question marks, onomatopoeia and the chapter
names. The short sentences build suspense, for example: ‘Rachel spotted something moving.’ The exclamation marks tell you when to emphasise your reading such as: ‘look!’ Also the question marks tell you when to make the character ask the other one a question for example: ‘what’s the matter Sky?’ Also the onomatopoeia make the story more interesting for example: splat, bang, fizz, pop and whoosh.
I think this book is an amazing book. I would recommend this book to school kids who believe in fairies. If I had to rate this book, I would give it a 4/5. If you like these types of genre then try reading this magnificent book.
