This book is about a little girl named Martha. Every day in the morning she will walk to school with her mum past a field. In the field was a horse. Martha will give the horse carrot and while he is eating the carrot she will pat him. But this horse wasn't like other horses it was old, skinny, dirty looking and its ribs showing. Martha didn't care she loved horses even if it isn't hers including this one. One day some thing happened that broke her heart for ever.
This story has 2 characters Martha and a horse. Martha is a caring, loving little girl that loves horses. She is caring and loving because she cares for others besides her self even if their aren't the same as her and he loves thing how she will love her family. The horse is grumpy and old. He is grumpy and old because every time Martha will go to pat him he would shake her hand off.
The moral of this story is to love some thing as long as you can and to never give up.
I recommend this book for the age 6 and up. The reason I recommend this age is because if kids are younger than the age of 6 they might not under stand some words in this book.
