the hobbit
The Hobbit is a greatly entertaining narrative written long ago by author J.R.R Tolkien. This book is a fantasy genre. The story starts off with a hobbit called Bilbo Baggins who is told by Gandalf the Grey to go an Adventure to vanquish an ancient dragon called Smaug and to claim back forgotten Dwarf treasure. Bilbo is accompanied by 11 Dwarves. They have to cross the dangerous misty mountains to get to Smaug. But the journey is very dangerous as they have to be wary of orcs and goblins. But when they are captured by goblins and trolls will they make it out and to complete their goal?
I loved the great language and descriptions used in The Hobbit. The songs and rhymes used in the book made it feel more detailed and the complex and amazing illustrations added more to the mood of the story. I also loved the long paragraphs and how everyone’s emotions changed when something bad happened.
This book has some words that I didn’t understand but when it’s from more than 80 years ago a lot has changed.
There is no main moral in the story but lots of tiny ones, like when Bilbo doesn’t want to go on an adventure the book is telling you that it’s okay to try out new things.
I recommend this book to nearly all ages because it is a masterpiece and something worth reading!
